I LOVED this video!!! Question for you: When you do this pomp, do you usually leave the rest of your hair up or down? I find that when my hair is dirty enough to do a pomp, so is the rest of my hair, so leaving it just loose looks frightening on me. haha

thanks! I tried this out of curiousity and boredom and no... it does not work well with clean hair. I went back and redid it with some pomade in my hair and it worked alot better. Still need some practice, but I think it will be pretty easy next time.
I have never had an issue doing it with clean hair, I do it all the time. Though I fully agree for more intricate dos, greasier hair makes it MUCH easier.
I have also found that you can do a pomp with a "twist and shove" rather than the teasing and back-combing. You twist the hair several inches back from the end of the pomp and then shove it forward for height.
